Celebration of Life

A celebration of life will be held on November 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church, 148 Makawao St., Kailua, HI 96734. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bill’s GoFundMe to support his family during this difficult time.

William “Bill” Pierce, born on December 7, 1967 and passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024, at the age of 56. Born and raised in Connecticut, Bill was the beloved son of Donald William and Joyce Elizabeth Pierce. Bill’s journey led him to serve in the Marine Corps at the age of 17. After eight years of service, he joined the Hawaii Air National Guard, where he dedicated many more years to his country. Bill was a committed husband, father, and grandfather, always putting his family first.

Bill was passionate about his community, and over the past 25 years, he took on the responsibility of maintaining the playground at ‘Aikahi Elementary School, where his wife, Carol, has taught for nearly three decades. Bill played a crucial role in building the Dragon Playground and organizing monthly cleanups to ensure it remained a safe and joyful place for local children to play.

Bill’s love for his family and community was evident in everything he did. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on through his acts of service, his love for his family, and the countless lives he touched.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Carol Pierce, and their three sons: Scott (Alanna), Christopher, and Quinton. Bill was a proud grandfather to his two cherished granddaughters, Galadriel and Eowyn Pierce. He is also survived by his four siblings, Joanne (Eric) Gilbert and Johnny Pierce of Connecticut, and Sandy Standish and Mike Pierce of Louisiana and numerous nieces and nephews.
