Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 11:00 am at Thurston Memorial Chapel at Punahou School, 1601 Punahou Street, Honolulu, Hawaii. Wendy Ann Kaleihuapala Heen Bazemore, 79 of Aiea, Hawaii passed away on May 6, 2022. She was born April 16, 1943 in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Abraham Heen and Peggy Whalen Heen. She graduated from Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1961 and attended Old Dominion University where she was active in athletics and the Pi Beta Phi sorority. She married Joseph Bazemore on April 15, 1966 in Virginia and moved to Kauai in 1968 and later to Honolulu where she lived until she passed. For over 35 years, Wendy worked in the Parent Faculty Association (PFA) at Punahou School where she had a long career in support of the parent volunteers and students and retired in 2018. Wendy was the personification of of grace, beauty and aloha and everyone around her was touched by her warm smile and her passion for her family, Punahou, and the Punahou community. She had many friends and a large extended family that loved her very much and she was a wonderful Tutu to her grandchildren and great-grandson.
She is survived by her two daughters, Paige Gabel and her husband Jeff of Pinckney, Michigan, and Meredith Santos and her husband Felipe of Boston, Massachusetts. She is also survived by her four grandchildren Malia (Gabel) Demmin, Makena Gabel, and Antonio and Francisco Santos and her great-grandson Marshall Demmin and a second great grandson is expected in September 2022. Mahalo to the friends and family who loved Wendy and will continue to honor her spirit.
